Fall VolleyBall: There will be a meeting Thursday May 27th @ 3:30 in the gym for girls that interested in playing volleyball at EFA in the fall. After the meeting if you are interested we will have open gym until 5:00

Interact: Interact Members are reminded to attend the Rita's fundraiser tonight and our last club meeting will be on Thursday, May 27th.

Juniors: Please see Mrs. Kennedy in Rm 214B if you want to sign-up for your Senior Pictures with prestige Portraits by Lifetouch. Dates are June 11th, July 15th and August 6th.

Yearbooks: Place an order for your 2009-2010 yearbook by June 1st to make sure a copy is reserved for you. See Mrs. Kennedy or Mrs. Bush to order.

Health Office: If you have had an injury that required you to use an elevator pass, which are the small grey keys used to operate the elevator, and you on longer need it, it must be returned to the Health Office immediately!! The Health Office has a long list of students who never returned them. They are School District Property and there is a $5.00 charge if they are not returned. Please return them ASAP to the Health Office.

Artwork: Student artwork from Mrs. Newkirk's classes, displayed at the Arnot Mall, is now ready for pick up. Please come to RM 104 before June 9th. Any artwork not claimed will be used at the discretion of Mrs. Newkirk.

Morning Announcements for May 25th

Freshman: Auntie Anne Fundraiser will arrive tomorrow. All orders will need to be picked up between3-6:30pm at the loading dock on the backside of the building.

Interact Club: The Interact club will be scooping ice at Rita's Italian Ice to raise money for Polio Prevention, This Wednesday from 6-9. Come and Support us.

Student council & Class Officer Elections for 2010-2011. Petitions available starting 5/24 see your Class Adviser for Election Packets. You must be eligible to run.


Thursday May 27th:
SADD Club Bake Sale: Cafe during lunch periods.

Vocal Music Concert: 7:30pm Auditorium

There are still openings available for the New Visions Communications program. Juniors should see their counselors for an application. Communications allows you to spend 1/2 day at work sites exploring a variety of careers in communication and media. Sites include radio, and T.V. sattiosn, and advertising, graphic design, public relations and marketing and publishing facilities. Students receive hands-on workplace experiences and take a trip to New York City. Last year they went to NBC for a tour and to view the TODAY show. Students in this program will receive credit in English 12, economics, government and two other credits. See your counselor for an application ASAP.

EFA Clean Teen Carnival: you can sign up for the following activities by Wednesday, the 26th.
  • Double Tennis Tournament: See Mrs. Phillips in Rm 228. starts at 1:00
  • 3 on 3 Basketball: at 3:00 in the Gym, see Ms. Davis in Rm 226.
  • Softball: at 2:00, see Mr. Burfield in Rm 230.
  • Free Prizes: will be given at Booths you visit.

Morning Announcements for May 19th

There will be a staff and student softball game at 2pm on Carnival Day. If you as a staff member or student are interested. See Ms. Davis

Interact Club: Interact club members should meet on Thursday after School in Mrs. Clark's room to make T-shirts.

SAT Prep: There is SAT Prep is in the Community Room in the evening.

Attention Solidworks students from 1st semester: Mr. Wall will have review classes Tues, Weds, and Thurs to prepare for exam June 11th.

Anyone interested in participating in a Tennis Tournament the day of the Carnival, see Mrs. Phillips.

On Friday May 21st at 10:45am in the School Community Room, Sergeant Byrne of the U.S. Air Force will present a Career Presentation. All students and staff are invited to attend.

There will be a School-Wide Carnival on May 28th from 1-5pm. There will be food items, drinks, ice cream, face painting, and much more available to purchase.

Congratulations to the Lady Devils Softball Team for their 4-2 victory over Horseheads. Maggie Harding & Emilie Rogers each hit homeruns & Mandy Fife added an RBI double. With that win they are the 2010 STAC West Champions.

Morning Announcements for May 17th


There is a BIG softball game today at EFA. If EFA wins this game they will be the STAC WEST CHAMPIONS Our varsity softball record is 16-1 and they are currently ranked #3 in New York State. So far they have had an incredible season and they are still going strong!! If you want to see an awesome softball game, come out to the EFA softball field today at 4:40. This game is also senior recognition. Hope to see you there – Go Blue Devils !

Upward Bound: Upward Bound Summer Information Session will be held on Wed 5/19 @ 6pm in the Cafe. This meeting is mandatory for all Upward Bound Students, and you must bring a parent or guardian.

Girls Basketball: There will be a brief meeting Tuesday, May 18th after school in the gym for current 9th grade girls interested in playing basketball for EFA.

er School Information: Summer School is from July 6th -- Aug 16, 2010. Regents/RCT Exams: August 17, 18, 19. Classes offered Monday - Thursday. It will be held at the Horseheads Campus Grades 10-12. See your Guidance Counselor for more information.

There will be a school wide Carnival on May 28th from 1-5pm. There will be food items, drinks, ice cream, face painting, and much more available to purchase.

FBLA: All Dues Paid-- FBLA please remember to stop by Rm 222 to vote for officers for 2010-2011.

InterAct: There will be a short Interact Club Meeting on Thur. May 13, 2010 at 3:15 in rm 204A(Mrs. Clarks room). We will be planning for our Rita's fundraiser, t-shirts, and Nominating Officers for next year. It is very important that you attend. The last meeting of the year will be May 27th.

2010 EFA Project Graduation: There will be an EFA Project Graduation Golf Tournament.

Holleran Golf Tournament: The Booster Clubs at EFA and SHS will be hosting the Fifteenth Annual J. Michael Memorial Golf Tournament. This is a major fundraiser for both clubs and is an exciting and rewarding community event. The event will be on June 12th at Tomassos Golf Course in Waverly. Entry fee per team is $240 and must be enter by June 4th. Sponsorship is available for $40 and needs to be entered by May 26th. Morning Announcements for May 4th

Seniors: Prom tickets are on sale now. they are $10 per person for just the dance and $25 per person for dinner and the dance. If you plan on attending dinner you need to sign-up by Monday, May 10th.

  • Also If you have not yet paid the rest of your senior trip money you need to do so or let us know you not be going by Monday May 21st or we will keep the money you have paid. In addition Room Assignments nee to be posted ASAP.

Freshman: We are currently in the middle of our Auntie Anne Fundraiser. All orders are due This Friday, May 7th. Payment should be taken at the time of order and checks should be made out to the Class of 2013. Our top seller will win $100.

FBLA:
Applications for FBLA officers are due to Mrs. Hamilton in Rm 222 by May 6th, Thursday.


Reminder: Our Cinco de Mayo Celebration begins this week. Don't forget to buy your raffle tickets for the wall hanging show cased at 4 corners.

A Spring Concert will be presented by the EFA instrumental music students on Thursday, May 6th. Featured will be the Percussion Ensemble, Orchestra and Bad. The program will begin at 7:30pm in the Auditorium. Admission is free.

Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team for their 2-1 victory over Corning East. Mollie Peck was 2 for 3 with a Double. Brooke Mitchell & Sarah Moore had RBIs. The Lady Devils are now 11-1

Chemung County YMCA 2010 Teen Cafe.
Where: Chemung county YMCA at 425 Penn Ave, Elmira NY 14904
When: Every Saturday Night from 7pm to 10pm starting May 1st and will be ongoing depending on Participation.

What: Teen Cafe is a safe place for our community teens to go and hang out with peers, play basketball, volleyball, play cards, play playstation 3 games or just chat with any one of our respectable volunteers. Good Music all night too.

How Much: Teen Cafe is only $3 per night

Age: Must be in High School with a Valid High School Id.
Concession stand will be available with snacks and drinks.
