CPR & First Aid Training: Students needing CPR & First Aid training for summer cohesion employment may sign up for certification with Mrs. Watkins in the Athletic Office.

Varsity & JV Football; There will be a brief meeting this Wed in the auditorium for everyone that might have an interest in playing JV or Varisty football next season. Anyone in 8th - 11th grade are encouraged to attend. Please pay attention to announcements for the times on Wed, Feb 29th.

Chemung County Youth Bureau: The Chemung County Youth Bureau is accepting applications for Recreation Leader positions for the 2012 Summer Cohesion Program, which provides recreational, educational and cultural enrichment programming for youth ages 4-12 in Chemung County during the summer. Recreation Leaders must be at least 17 yrs old by July 1st and have current working papers. Candidates must demonstrate experience in working with children and strong consideration will be given to those Volunteering and working with your in our community. Recreation Leaders must also be certified in Adult/Child CPR and First Aid by July 1, 2012.

If you are of Finnish heritage there is a scholarship in the Guidance Office that you will want to apply for. the deadline for applying is June 8th, 2012.

The Jeff Alexander Memorial Scholarship is in the Guidance Office. It is open to a graduating senior who will be attending an accredited college or university in the fall. come and get your application. The deadline for applying is March 30th.

Another Scholarship has come into the Guidance Office. The applications for the Joseph R. Every Scholarship are for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of medicine, or who express an interest in becoming teachers. If this sounds like you come and get your application. Deadline for applying is April 2, 2012

The Society of Women Engineers are offering scholarships to female high school students who plan to major in engineering or computer science. come to the Guidance Office and check it out.

The Community Foundation Scholarship deadline is Feb. 16th. There are several scholarships available. come to Guidance today and get your applications completed and sent in before the deadline. Every year several of our students are awarded money from them.

A Youth Summit will be held at the YWCA on Feb 21st from 9-1:30. The goal of the summit is to provide a forum for youth to develop ways to address issues of concern and make recommendations for change. Please see your counselor for a permission slip if you would like to attend.

Early excuse/late arrival cards are now ready. They can be picked up from Mrs. Mustico in the upstairs office.

Students Interested in the Medical Field: there will be a Medical Career Panel held on Wed, Feb 15th from 9:30-10:30 in the auditorium. Please sign up with Mrs. Sweeney in Rm 218 in order to get a pass. Representatives from the following careers will be represented: Nurse, pediatrics nurse, x-ray technician, physician's assistant, and doctor.

Seniors: attention seniors your senior trip deposits must be turned in by this Friday to Ms. Wilson.

Valentine's day Dance; there will be a Valentin's day dance on Friday, the 10th. tickets are $6 and $7 at the door. You can buy them in room 214a, the library, and during lunch periods.

Scholarship: the Safari Club International will be awarding a scholarship to a student who demonstrates a high level of interest in the environment and outdoor activities. Come to the Guidance Office and check it out.
