Morning Announcement

Spring Fling Dance: there will be a "Spring Fling" Dance of EFA on Friday April 15th.

Girls Lacrosse Game in Ithaca has been CANCELED. Practice after school.

Hot chocolate and Donuts for Sale in the Library Tomorrow $1 each.

Spring Break starts April 4th - April 6th. School is in session April 7th and 8th.

There will not be an after school bus on April 1st, April 7th and April 8th.

Morning Announcement

The Honor Roll Social is tonight @ 6:30 in the Auditorium. Honor Roll Students from 1st semester will be recognized. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

Java Jive is coming. There will be a meeting on Thursday @ 3:10 in the auditorium for anyone interested in performing at the Spring Java Jive.

Bake Sale: Their will be a bake sale on Thursday March 31st for Soles-for-Soles

Late Bus: There will be NO late bus on Friday, April 1st, Thursday April 7th and Friday April 8th.

Spring Fling Dance: There will be a Spring Fling dance at EFA on Friday, April 15th.

Interact Club: The Interact club will be meeting this Thursday after school in Rm. 212.

Blood Drive:
spring blood Drive is tomorrow from 8-2 in the library. You can still sign up today during lunch. Sign up at the Blood Drive table in the cafe. If you have already signed up, you should be given a pink blood drive pass today. Remember to bring an id with your birthdate and a permission slip if you are 16.

2011 March Madness Week:

Monday: PI/Einstein Day: Crazify your hair like Einstein or wear something math themed or even both.

Tuesday: College Sports Day -- Dress up as your favorite college sports team.

Wednesday: Hawaiian Shirt Day -- Wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt to show how cool our school is.

Thursday: St. Patrick's Day -- Dress up in green.

Friday: Purple (Relay for Life) -- Dress up in purple as we kick off Relay for Life.

Beginning Wed, March 9th and until fields are available at 4:00. All cars need to be moved from the upper parking lot. Practices will be taking place at this time.

Key Club: There is a Key Club meeting Thursday after school in RM 133.

Don't forget to bring your loose change to your 1st period class. The money will help pay for surgeries for children born with cleft palate. The winning class gets a breakfast party.

Softball tryouts for BOTH Varsity and JV girls, start today at 3:30 - 5:45 in the gym.

Baseball:
Baseball tryouts for Both Varsity and JV Boys at 5:45 - 8:00 in the gym.

Upward Bound:
The Cornell Upward Bound program is looking for new members. Tutoring and support is offered at EFA. Also students live on the Cornell Campus for part of the summer. They take courses, work and volunteer while engaging in leadership activities and social events. See your counselor ASAP.

Amazing Opportunity for an EFA student:
There are monies available for one of our students to study abroad through the AFS program.
The summer program would be mostly paid for but if a student wanted to go all year they would have to pay the difference. Students have to be ages 15-18. Barb Preucil who used to teach here will choose the student.If you know an EFA student interested please have them see Terry Nicklaus in Guidance for a preliminary application.

Youth Council: the Town of Horseheads Youth Council presents Youth for Youth Conference 2011. March 26th and March 27th at Horseheads High School. For more information contact Bruce May 607-739-3517.

LaCrosse: This is a reminder to lacrosse players that beginning March7th equipment must be stored in the following locations: Boy's equipment: boy's team locker room (It will be open daily from 7:45-8am and then unlocked at 3:00pm) Girls equipment: Girl's Phys Ed Office ( See coach Reidy before and after school) Lacrosse equipment should not be stored in the Main Office.

Key Club: Key Club meeting in Rm 133 Friday after school.

Youth-4-Youth Lock-In: The Horseheads Youth Bureau's Annual Youth-for-Youth Lock-In is back. The 27 hrs of fun will take place on March 26th and 27th with arrival between 9am and 11am on the 26th and departure at noon the 27th. It will be located at Horseheads High School and there will be Bobby K Blow-ups, Movies, Games, Contests, Workshops, Wii games, Open Swim, Live Bands, a Midnight Dance Party DJ'd by Criztian from 94-Rock, and food will be provided by Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, Chili's, Friendly's and more. This year's there will be "Through the Decades." so expect some retro-themed good times. Registration forms are available in the Main Office or at the Horseheads Youth Bureaus. The registration forms and the $25 registration fee are due by March 21st and can be turned in at the Horseheads Youth Bureau or into the Main Office. Hurry there is only 250 slots.

Interact Club: The Interact Club will be sponsoring "Pennies for Palates" this March to raise money for children born with clift palate. Please bring in your loose change to your 1st period.

Did you know that $250 is enough money to pay for one child to have surgery to fix cleft palate. Please donate today in your 1st period class.

Set Painters:
call all set painters. we will be meeting in RM 104 Tuesday 3:10-5pm. Thursday: 3:10-5pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm. Please see Mrs. Newkirk with any questions

Baseball Meeting
: There will be a mandatory meeting for anyone interested in playing baseball for EFA this Friday after school in the Gym. This meeting is mandatory.

Ushers Needed:
Want to be an user for a performance or two of Footloose. Friday 3/11 and Sat 3/12 evenings or Sunday 3/13 matinee. All users get into the performance for Free, invite a friend to user with you. See Mrs. Milliken in Rm 123.
