Morning Announcements

Rat Club: the Rat club is raising money to pay for our female albino rat, "Snowball" to have life-saving surgery to remove a mammary tumor. We need $75 to pay her vet bills. Please help us by donating in the main office or Rm 212

All players that played JV or Varsity Baseball, we will have a brief parent meeting on Monday, Dec 19th at 5:30 at Southside for fundraising.

Candy Grams for sale in the Library for a $1, they will be delivered on Wed, Dec 21 during period 3/4.

GSA: the GSA Club will wearing t-shirts on Friday to support awareness of LGBT issues. If any student or staff would like to wear a free t-shirt on Friday to support the "Gay-Straight alliance please see Mrs. Clark in Rm 212.

Yearbook: there will be a yearbook meeting in Ms. Bush's room on Tuesday, Dec 13th at 3;15. Please see Mrs. Kennedy or Ms. Bush if you can not attend.

Unclaimed Items:
there is a vast array of clothing items , shoes, backpacks, ect in the lost and found area in the main office. all unclaimed items will be disposed of if not claimed before winter recess.

Interact Club:
the Interact Club will holding a bake sale during lunch periods in the Cafe on Thursday, Dec 15th.

National Honor Society:
If you are not in the National Honor Society don't park behind the school. Park by the Pool. Thank you.

NHS(National Honors Society): Inductions into the NHS will be on Monday, Dec 5th @ 7pm in the EFA Auditorium.

FBLA: FBLA(Future Business Leaders of America) meets today after school in Mrs. Hamilton's RM 222.

GSA(Gay Straight Alliance):
There will be a GSA meeting this Thursday in RM 212 after school.

Seniors:
Reminder that Senior Trip sign-up and deposit are due Today.

Fire Fighters:
The applications for the Fire Fighters of the State of New York Scholarship are in the Guidance Office. If you will be pursuing a career in the Community Service-related areas and are a fire fighter or are related to one come and get your application.

Attention All Actors or People who want to act: The EFA Spring Musical is Camelot and will be presented March 9-11, 2012. Camelot is the story of King Arthur and Guinevere and the Knights of the round Table. We are looking for talented people who want to participate by acting on stage, in the chorus or even work back stage. auditions for Camelot are December 19 at 6;30 pm and Dec 20 @ 3:30 pm in the auditorium. You only need to attend one audition. See Ms. Gill in Rm 224 for audition information.

SADD: there will be a SADD Club Meeting on Monday Dec 5th @ 3:15 in Rm 226

Spring Musical: This year's spring musical is Camelot. There will be an information meeting for anyone interested in acting on stage or working backstage Today, fifth Period in Rm 224. We will meet quickly at the beginning of 5th. See you There, Ms. Gill

Elmira Free Academy let's come together this holiday season and help make a difference in our local community. The Federal Emergency Management System has cut funding by over 40% at our local Samaritan Center which serves many people in our community who are fighting the effects of poverty. Catholic Charities works to ensure that people have food, clothing, shelter, medical supplies and the ability to achieve a decent standard of living. Starting Monday, Dec 5th we are going to have a contest to see which period 3/4 class can collect the most amount of products to donate to the Samaritan Center this holiday season. The period 3/4 class who collects the most will receive a breakfast in class the week of Christmas break. The teachers from the department who collect the most will win a lunch the week of Christmas break. Our goal as a building is 2,000 total items.
The items we are looking to collect are:
Sugar
Cereal
High quality proteins: Tuna, Peanut Butter, Canned Meats, and protein bars
Paper products like: Paper towels, Toilet paper, tissues, and Ziploc bags.

Donuts and Hot chocolate for sale in the Library tomorrow morning.
